Established in 1961, San Jacinto College has created a deep impact on the East Harris County region. About Marie Flickinger

Elected in 1995, Marie Flickinger was the first woman to serve on the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees. Mrs. Flickinger is a former Chair of the Building Committee, and she champions the student success agenda with the Board, College, and community.
 
In the Fall of 2013, Mrs. Flickinger earned the Association of Community College Trustees M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award as the national community college trustee of the year due to her positive impact and influence on student success. She advocates for community colleges and higher education and has played major roles in many initiatives at the College.
